The name

Lucidara, the brightest light of Ara

A constructed word with deep roots. Read it in three parts.

Lucid Latin lucidus: clear, bright, easily understood. To make something lucid is to make it intelligible.
Lucida The astronomical term for the brightest star in a constellation. Polaris is the Lucida of Ursa Minor.
Ara A real constellation in the southern sky, Latin for altar: a place where things of meaning are offered.

Our story

Lucidara began with a small frustration: business software, even at the highest end, often makes simple things complicated. We started with point-of-sale, the heartbeat of millions of small businesses, and asked a simple question: what if it just worked, without a manual?

ClarityPOS is our first product. Alongside it, we build custom software, AI, and automation for other companies, using the same approach.

We work with businesses of every size, from independent stores to growing chains, and with teams who need custom software, system integration, and automation. Our clients are in Sri Lanka, Australia, and beyond.

Lucidara is a product and engineering team with experience across fintech, martech, customer data platforms, point of sale, and agetech. We build end-to-end web applications, and we design, build, test, and support them ourselves, the same people from first sketch to live release.
